Do you want this in Cheatham County?

Lagoon Creek is a 550-megawatt methane gas plant.
TVA wants to build a 900-megawatt plant that would be almost twice the size in our county!
LISTEN TO THE NOISE AND IMAGINE THIS ON LOCKERTSVILLE ROAD!

Our TVA Story

Preserve Cheatham County (PCC) is a non-profit group of local residents fighting a proposed methane gas plant and pipeline in the beautiful and rural community of Ashland City, Tennessee. The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) plans to build a methane gas plant on 286 acres of land located in northern Ashland City on Lockertsville Road. Kinder Morgan would own the accompanying 12-mile pipeline project and is part of TVA’s plan to replace a coal-burning unit at the Cumberland City plant with gas. The electricity generated will serve Nashville in Davidson County.

Preserve Cheatham County
Why We Fight

The residents of Cheatham County oppose TVA's methane gas plant that will destroy our peace, safety, property values, and rural way of life.

Methane gas plants come with water quality, air quality, noise pollution, and safety concerns.

The Timeline

TVA plans to build out a 12-mile pipeline and methane gas plant with 400-megawatt battery storage by 2028. The plan is a proposal -- it is not a done deal. TVA must first clear a number of regulatory environmental and legal hurdles. We can work together to stop this project.
